Anjali Paul, the cluster head of Islami Bank RDS Area No. 11, Center No. 5, is proud of one of the senior-most members of the center, the traditional earthenware maker (Kumar) Jyotsna Rani Paul. Anjali’s high appreciation was not at all an exaggeration. Joytsna’ success has been more than what Anjali had introduced Jyotsna. Earthen pottery is the hereditary family craft of most of the members of this ‘Palpara’ ethnic inhabitants. Here in Palpara Islami Bank’s RDS cluster is run with an exemplary success and reputation. Most of this RDS cluster’s members belong to this ethnic group of earthenware craftsmanship. But Jyotsna’s case is quite different. She became an RDS member in 1999 and ever since then this years she is rung her 10th slab. Her first RDS investment was Tk.10 thousand followed by an average enhancement of slab at a rate of 10,000/=, 13,000/=,10,000/=, 20,000/=,16,000/=, 26,000/=, 20,000/=(for several times). She takes less investment but save more. Besides personal savings worth Tk. 10,718/= she maintains other two savings products like Center Fund and MSS. Now she pays back her investment at an easy weekly installment of only Tk,250/= plus Tk 110/= savings. During all these years she has never been found defaulter in a single weekly installment.

She herself makes earthen pot for sweets and curd and wholesalers buy these 1 kg pots only at tk 3.50, half kg pot at tk 2.5/= and 250 gm pot at tk.  2.00/= but sell these to sweetshops more than twice than their cost price. Jyotsna knows the massive gaps between the wholesalers’ double profit. But she and all other potters are undone. They have to buy the row earth makes the mud or earthen dough, dry the pottery under the sun, burn them in charcoal kiln-all are terribly expensive these days. But being in the middle of the business the broker make the profit twice the move than the labor and cost of production. Because of the inability to sell the products manufacturers like Jyotsna Paul sustains the deprivation silently. Still Jyostna is happy that her crat keeps rolling thanks to the continuous financial support from Islami Bank’s RDS. She is happier at the kind manner and equal treatment of the Bank’s and all brand officials, especially the field officers. “our weekly meetings start both ‘Quran’ and ‘Geeta’ rendering. Islami Bank never segregates between the rich and the poor, between Hindus and Muslims, upper and lower caster, they look upon people equally’. Acknowledged Jyotsna Paul in profound gratitude to leading welfare bank, Islami Bank Bangladesh.

Her dedication has all along been profound and her commitment amazingly resolute. She has over all the years of the transaction, never been allowed to put a red mark (of default) in a single week in her RDS possible, even though the Covid-19 pandemic years. Meaning the homestead, looking after the family, attending empathically to the family’s elders she has equally made an amazing success in her business enterprise, which is indeed a glory example in the entire locality, especially among the RDS members of recruit Palpar village under SadarUpazila, Jessore.
