Md. Rafiqul Islam joined IBBL in 1998 as a Senior Officer. He has served the Bank in difefrent positions including as the Head of Branches in Shyamoli Branch, Uttara Branch and Gulshan Corporate Branch and head of different divisions in Head Office like Treasury and Fund Management Division, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Division, SME Investment Division-II, Investment Administration Division and Presently serving as the Head of International Trade Wing. He has also performed his duties as DCAMLCO, Head of SME and Head of Treasury of the Bank.

He completed his MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka. He is a Diplomaed Associate of Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB).

Md. Rafiqul Islam acquired a wide range of professional and leadership skills specially in Foreign Exchange and International Trade through participation in different national and international training programs, seminars and forums and visited countries like England, Germany, Malaysia, Hongkong, Thiland, India, China, Egypt & Vietnam.
